The Fire Service in Limassol was called almost simultaneously at noon for the extinguishing of a fire that broke out in a textile warehouse in the industrial area of Linopetra and another in an open space in the industrial area of Agios Silas.
Eight fire engines, including a hydraulic platform, were mobilized to put out the first fire, which spread outside the warehouse and next to LPG tanks.
According to the spokesman of the Fire Service, the fire is under control and adjacent premises have been protected.

The second fire, in the industrial Agios Silas, burned two hectares of dry grass and wild vegetation and four firefighting vehicles, two aircraft of the Department of Forests and two helicopters of the Republic were engaged to extinguish it.
The fire is now under control in the fences of industrial premises and is being extinguished, the Fire Department Spokesman added in a post on twitter.
In the last month, the Fire Service has intensified its action, since every day it responds to dozens of calls for fires.
