Thousands of Skydagger FPV drones arrived in Kosovo from Turkey.

Acting Prime Minister Albin Kurti announced their arrival at Pristina Airport in a social media post. Kosovo received thousands of kamikaze drones on 8 October from Turkey. These drones, also known as RTF (Ready to Fly) Skydagger FPV, are combat drones equipped with explosive mechanisms and capable of engaging both moving and stationary enemy targets, Kurti wrote on Facebook.

The caretaker Prime Minister of Kosovo stated that the equipment had arrived earlier than expected and underlined the fact that the striking power of the army has been significantly enhanced through the use of new technological achievements that meet the requirements of modern warfare.

Turkey’s arming of Kosovo has angered Belgrade. The reaction of Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić was immediate, as he unleashed strong criticism and threats towards Ankara.

“I am shocked by Turkey’s behaviour and brutal violation of the UN Charter and Security Council Resolution 1244, as well as the continued arming of the Pristina authorities. It is now abundantly clear that Turkey does not want stability in the Western Balkans and dreams of reviving the Ottoman Empire. Serbia is a small country, but we got the message well!” Vučić wrote to X.

It should be noted that since 2018, Turkey has been continuously equipping the Kosovo army with modern systems. In 2023, it delivered a fleet of Bayraktar unmanned aerial vehicles to Kosovo, while in 2024 it signed an agreement with Pristina to build an artillery projectile factory.
