Three weeks after the incident in Kasos, with the Turkish intervention in the activities of the Italian research vessel IEVOLI RELUME, the research team returns to the area to continue its research activities.
Yet this time the NAVTEX, issued by the Greek authorities, avoids areas that could cause re-engagement.
According to the NAVTEX, IEVOLI RELUME will carry out investigations for the installation of a subsea cable from August 20-21 in the area south of Kasos, which is within Greek territorial waters except for its western point, which is marginally outside Greek territorial waters, but in an area not related to the Turkish-Libyan Memorandum.
According to Marine traffic, the Italian ship is already sailing south of Kasos. It is not known, of course, whether the Italian ship will continue its activities after August 21 and in which area it will move, as its activation is also of critical importance considering the decisions expected to be taken this week by CERA of Cyprus and the President Christodoulidis regarding the participation of Cyprus in the electrical interconnection project based on the proposal of ADMIE.
