Joint training of Cypriot and Greek forces south of Limassol – Photos
Yesterday, January 25, 2021, a joint operational training of Air Force and Naval Units of the National Guard (ΝG) and the Hellenic Navy (HN) took place in a sea area south of Limassol.
The National Guard’s Offshore Patrol Vessel (OPV) “IOANNIDIS”, the “TSOMAKIS”, “GEORGIOU” and “FAMAGUSTA” Coastal Patrol Boats as well as one AW-139 helicopter of the 460th Search and Rescue Squadron participated in the exercise, along with the “Hydra” Frigate (F-462) of the Hellenic Navy.
The joint training included drills and advanced tactical maneuvers with the objective of developing interoperability between the Naval and Air Force Units of the National Guard and the Hellenic Navy in various areas of naval and aeronautical cooperation.
