The Austrian Defence Minister, Mrs. Klaudia Tanner, made an informative visit to the JRCC on Wednesday, February 16, 2022, in the context of her official visit to Cyprus.
The Austrian Minister was informed about the Center’s organization and operation as well as about the role it can play in the Eastern Mediterranean region during the execution of Search & Rescue and other humanitarian operations.
Mrs. Tanner expressed her satisfaction for the perfect organization of the JRCC, but also for the multidimensional role it plays in the Eastern Mediterranean region.
The visit of the Austrian Minister of Defence to the JRCC marks the first visit of a Foreign Minister to the center in 2022, whereas earlier this year the center was also visited by a delegation of the Egyptian School of National Defence and officers of the Saudi Armed Forces.
