As a result of the cooperation and coordination of the Turkish “embassy” in the occupied territories, that is, the Turkish secret service, the “Interior Ministry”, the “police headquarters” in the occupied territories and the Crime Combating and Trafficking Department of the Security Directorate of the Turkish Ministry of Interior, a man named Ahmet Gigit was arrested in the occupied territories, accused of being a member of Fethullah Gülen’s organization (FETÖ), according to “Cyprus” newspaper.
As the Press and Information Office states, following a statement from the Security Directorate of the Turkish Interior Ministry, the Prosecutor’s Office in Alexandretta, Turkey issued a decision to arrest the man as a suspected armed terrorist organization member and fugitive.
It is noted that the suspect is said to have been responsible for organizing the secret structure of FETÖ within the police force in Alexandretta. Gigit was transported from the port of occupied Kyrenia to the Turkish port of Tasutsu and handed over to the Turkish authorities.
Following the coup attempt, some 80,000 people are being held pending trial and some 150,000 civil servants, military personnel and others have been laid off or made redundant. More than 20,000 are estimated to be just those who have been laid off from ranks of the Turkish army.
