According to information from CNA, around midnight, 15 people from Syria, 14 men and a woman, passed through Strovilia and entered the British Bases of Dhekelia, from an unknown, unauthorized point of entry.

The Police of Dhekelia Bases cooperate closely with the authorities of the Republic of Cyprus regarding the issue of illegal immigrants and it is expected that the 15 Syrians, after going through a coronavirus test, will be transferred by the authorities to the “Pournara” Hospitality Center in Kokkinotrimithia.
Meanwhile, shortly before six in the morning, the Police received information that a boat with immigrants was located 8 nautical miles southeast of Cavo Greco.
Two Port Police boats went to the sea area where the boat with about ten people on board was located.
Due to the coronavirus pandemic, members of the Port Police are trying to persuade the immigrants to return to their country of origin.
