On Tuesday, June 27, 2023, Exercise “SALAMIS – 02/23” took place in the sea area of Limassol Bay within the area of responsibility for Search and Rescue of the Republic of Cyprus, delimited by the Nicosia FIR. The said exercise was held under the coordination of the Joint Rescue Coordination Center (JRCC) of Cyprus.
According to a relevant announcement, the purpose of the exercise was to train the participants in Search and Rescue (SAR) procedures, contributing to the enhancement of their operational readiness as well as strengthening their cooperation and interoperability.
The Hellenic Armed Forces participated in “SALAMIS – 01/23” with the PSARA Frigate and the Republic of Cyprus with the AW-139 Helicopter of the 460 Search and Rescue Squadron.
