The Multinational Exercise “POGGIO DART 22” (PODA 22) took place from Friday 4 November to Wednesday 9 November 2022.

This exercise was planned and coordinated by the NATO Deployable Air Command and Control (NATO DACCC) and took place at the Cervia Air Base in Italy, with the participation of Aircraft from Greece, the USA, Italy, and Turkey.

According to the Hellenic National Defence General Staff (HNDGS), “POGGIO DART 22” is part of the wider planning of the HNDGS regarding the international cooperation of the Hellenic Armed Forces and was intended to strengthen the operational capabilities of the DACCC as well as to increase the level of cooperation, understanding, and interoperability in an inter-alliance context.

The Hellenic Armed Forces participated with 3 F-4 Fighter Aircraft and support personnel from the 117 Combat Wing. During the exercise, items of complex air scenarios were executed that covered the entire range of air operations, such as:

  • Dissimilar Air Combat Training
  • Offensive Counter Air
  • Close Air Support
  • Dynamic Targeting
  • Time Sensitive Targeting.
