A few days ago, a handover ceremony took place at the Ministry of Citizen Protection, marking the official donation of seven state-of-the-art vehicles from Helleniq Energy to the Hellenic Police.

The event was attended by the Minister for Citizen Protection,  Michalis Chrysochoidis, the CEO of Helleniq Energy, Andreas Siamisiis, and the Chief of the Hellenic Police, Lieutenant General Dimitrios Mallios.

According to the official statement, the vehicles — comprising jeeps, patrol cars, and motorcycles — will serve as vital assets for the Road Accident Prevention Team (OEPTA) and the Crime Prevention and Suppression Team (OPKE) in Western Attica, as well as the Thessaloniki Traffic Police.

The key objective is to enhance citizen safety and support the well-being of local communities, particularly in the vicinity of Helleniq Energy’s facilities in Western Attica and Western Thessaloniki, where there is an increasing need for fleet modernisation.

The donation includes:

  • Two vehicles, for the Road Accident Prevention Team (OEPTA), to be deployed in Western Attica.
  • One special-purpose jeep, designated for the Crime Prevention and Suppression Team (OPKE) in Western Attica.
  • Four Sport Touring motorcycles: two allocated to the Thessaloniki Traffic Police and two to the OEPTA in Western Attica.

In addition to the vehicle donation, Helleniq Energy has also undertaken the renovation and repair of the Kypseli Police Department, one of the most significant police stations in the Attica region, known for its high personnel numbers and operational demands.
