Hellenic Navy participation in exercise “INIOCHOS 21” – Live fire against surface and air targets – Photos & VIDEO

From Monday 12 to Friday 23 April 2021, the operational training of Navy units was carried out along with other national exercises, namely “LAILAIPS”, “AIGIALOS”, “ANAPNEFSTIR” and “PERISKOPIO”, in the sea area of North and Central Aegean, Myrtos, North and South Cretan Sea and the sea of Kythera. Units of the Frigates, Submarines, Fast Boats, Patrol Vessels, Landing Forces, Underwater Demolition and Navy Aviation Commands participated in the exercise.
In the context of the above activities, units and personnel of the Ministry of Defence participated in the multinational exercise “INIOCHOS 21”.
During the above exercises, advanced live fire drills were executed against surface and air targets, complex air defence exercises, drills of torpedo shots from submarines, landing exercises, scenarios of war between submarines as well as a significant number of scenarios aiming at the response to all types of threats were also carried out.
These exercises were carried out in the framework of the annual operational training program of the Navy, in order to maintain and further increase the operational readiness and combat capability of the participants.
