Defence technology group Thales announced yesterday that the hacker group LockBit 3.0 claimed to have stolen some of its data, threatening to publish it.
According to Thales, the extortion and ransomware group had announced plans on the dark web to release the data on November 7. It added that it had not received any immediate ransom notice so far.
Thales has launched an internal investigation and informed the national cyber security agency ANSSI, but has so far not filed a police complaint, a company official said.
The hackers have not provided evidence that they have obtained Thales’ data, the official added.
