From September 18 to 19, 2024, the Chief of the Ground Forces of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Major General Yousef Mayouf Al-Halami, paid an official visit to Greece at the invitation of the Chief of the General Staff of the Army, Lieutenant General Georgios Kostidis.
On September 18, 2024, as part of the visit, the Chief of the GES welcomed his counterpart at the “PAPAGOU” Camp. During the meeting, which was held in an exceptional atmosphere, the strengthening of the ties of the two armies through the increase of bilateral military cooperation actions was discussed, and in this direction there was an exchange of views on issues of common interest, an examination of the progress of the implementation of the already agreed activities, and a search for new intersections and fields of cooperation.
Afterwards, Major General Yousef Mayouf Al-Halami visited the Ewelpidos Military School (SSE), where he was informed about the School’s work and toured its facilities. On September 19, 2024, he visited the Engineering School (SMH) in Loutraki, Corinthia, where he attended a demonstration of the Special Disaster Response Section (SDR) of the 747 Special Engineer Battalion (ETMX).
