Germany’s Rheinmetall supplies Ukraine with state-of-the-art field hospital

With the support of the German government, Rheinmetall will soon supply the Ukrainian Armed Forces with a state-of-the-art field hospital. The Ukrainian Ministry of Defence awarded the €9 million order to Rheinmetall’s subsidiary Zeppelin Mobile Systeme GmbH (ZMS) in September 2022. The package also includes training, while delivery is scheduled for 2023.

The field hospital is a combined system that includes tent- and container-based facilities as well as high-quality medical equipment that is integrated into the ZMS shelters. Rheinmetall is also supplying the tents and the necessary infrastructure for the autonomous operation of the field hospital.

Among other things, the system includes an emergency room, triage room, operating room, intensive care unit, computed tomography, sterilization facility and a pharmacy. It also has tents for administrative work, care provision, surgical preparation, triage, a waiting area and a personnel space. In addition, there are sanitary containers, and containers that can support transport, potable and non-potable water, oxygen, power generators as well as a decontamination tent. The field hospital complies with the Role 2 standard.
