On Thursday, September 01, 2022, the National Guard Deputy Chief’s assumption of duties ceremony at the Ministry of Defence. The ceremony was held in the presence of the Minister of Defence, Mr. Charalambos Petridis, the Assistant Attorney General, Mr. Savvas Angelidis, the Director General of the Ministry of Defence, Mr. Andreas Loukas, the President and members of the Parliamentary Defence Committee, other political authorities, members of the Supreme Military Council of the National Guard and personnel of the National Guard General Staff (GEEF).
According to GEEF, the Chief, Lt. Gen. Dimocritus Zervakis, bidding farewell to Lt. Gen. Kostas Chrysiliou, thanked him for his 45-year contribution to enhancing the operational readiness of the National Guard, the cordial cooperation, mutual trust and camaraderie that characterized their relationship and wished him health and luck in the new path he will now follow.
To the incoming Deputy Chief, Lt. Gen. Loukas Hatzimichael, after congratulating him on his appointment, he wished him well in the difficult task he is undertaking, convinced that their cooperation will be creative and successful in increasing the deterrence capacity of the National Guard and defending the interests of the Republic of Cyprus.
