Rheinmetall and Anduril Industries have announced a strategic partnership to jointly develop and deliver a comprehensive suite of autonomous systems.

EODH, together with its new subsidiary, EODH DYNAMICS, participated in DEFEA 2025, showcasing integrated modular upgrade solutions for main battle tanks (LEOPARD 1 and M60) and Armoured Personnel Carriers (APCs), specifically the M113 and LEONIDAS – 4K 7FA platforms.
These solutions were developed in collaboration with the Slovenian company VALHALA, Australia’s EOS, and the Belgian-Spanish consortium DUMA.
The centrepiece of the exhibition was a LEONIDAS APC, provided by the Hellenic Army, fitted with the VALHALA Nimrod 300 remote-controlled turret. This fully stabilised turret. This fully stabilised turret featured a 30mm ATK MK 44 autocannon and a single launcher for loitering munitions or, alternatively, Spike LR2 anti-tank guided missiles.
The President of the Republic of Cyprus, Mr. Nikos Christodoulides, honored EODH with a visit to its stand, where he was thoroughly briefed on the company’s capabilities and ongoing collaboration with Cypriot defence companies.
The same turret is also available with a 25mm cannon variant. At the rear of the LEONIDAS APC, a passive RF detection and geolocation system for remotely operated drones — the RF-HUNTER by the Cypriot firm SignalGenerix — was demonstrated. The integrated operation of the Nimrod 300 and RF-HUNTER enables hard-kill counter-drone capabilities against threats approaching the vehicle.
Alongside the LEONIDAS APC, the proposed modular subsystems for the powerpack upgrade were on display. These included the new CAT C7.2 engine (380 hp), a fully automatic transmission, and an upgraded steering system. All components form part of the holistic LEONIDAS 300 upgrade concept, which offers a modular architecture tailored to the operational requirements of both the Hellenic Army and the Cypriot National Guard.
The Minister of Defence of the Republic of Cyprus, Mr. Vasilis Palmas, also visited EODH’s booth and received a detailed briefing on the company’s proposals addressing specific requirements of the National Guard.
The LEONIDAS 300 concept features a comprehensive upgrade of ballistic and mine protection, new digital crew stations for the driver and gunner, a redesigned electrical architecture, and a fully networked system enabling seamless integration of future systems and subsystems.
In terms of armour protection, EODH offers advanced modular armour kits providing Level 5 frontal ballistic protection (NATO STANAG 4569) and Level 3a/3b mine resistance. This holistic solution transforms the APC into an Infantry Fighting Vehicle (IFV) at a fraction of the cost of a new system, while significantly enhancing firepower, survivability, and mobility — comparable to modern IFVs.
The Chief of the Cypriot National Guard, Lieutenant General Georgios Tsitsikostas, was also briefed on EODH’s proposal to modernize and convert the legacy LEONIDAS APCs — the backbone of Cyprus’s mechanized infantry — into modern hybrid IFVs.
The company also presented a modular upgrade package for the Greek M113A1 and A2 APCs under the designation M113 HEL, sharing many components with the LEONIDAS 300. In Greek service, both upgraded platforms are proposed to use the same engine and many common subsystems, including weapon turrets and digital crew stations. This approach ensures economies of scale, logistical simplification, and increased maintenance efficiency through greater fleet commonality.
The impressive ASPIS NG armour suite, part of the proposed upgrade of LEOPARD 1A5 tanks to the LEOPARD 1HEL configuration, also took centre stage. This package includes a 1,000 hp powerpack, new suspension and tracks, an upgraded fire control and turret drive system, advanced modular armour, and digital battlefield connectivity.
A notable visitor was the Deputy Chief of the Hellenic Army General Staff, Lieutenant General Andreas Koronakis, accompanied by Major General Eleftherios Oikonomou, Director of HAGS Branch D (Defence Planning – Innovation – Transformation), along with senior staff officers.
Options such as an integrated RCWS mounted on the commander’s panoramic sight, an onboard reconnaissance UAV, and loitering munitions were also presented. These options are easily integrated thanks to the system’s open architecture, enabling legacy platforms to surpass even next-generation MBTs in capabilities — at a fraction of the cost of new acquisitions.
The modular upgrade approach offered for the LEO 1HEL is also applicable to a range of legacy MBTs including the M48A5, M48A5 MOLF, M60A1/A3, and AMX-30.
EODH’s stand was also visited by a German delegation including H.E. Andreas Kindl, German Ambassador to Greece, the Director of the Federation of German Security and Defence Industries (BDSV), and the German Defence Attaché. Discussions focused on enhancing industrial cooperation between EODH and leading OEMs from Germany and across Europe.
During DEFEA, EODH signed a strategic cooperation agreement with EOS Defence Australia, a global leader in Remote Weapon Station (RWS) design and production. The agreement covers technology transfer and local manufacturing of RWS systems in Greece to support the Hellenic Armed Forces and other allied European nations.
The booth also featured an array of RWS solutions from VALHALA and EOS, including VALHALA’s Midgard turret with a 20mm cannon and EOS’s R400 turret equipped with a 30x113mm autocannon, a coaxial machine gun, and ATGM capabilities (JAVELIN or SPIKE).
Additionally, reconnaissance and strike drones from GEP — an EODH partner — were presented as integral components of the company’s armoured platform upgrade packages.
During the DEFEA exhibition, EODH signed a significant cooperation agreement with EOS Defence Australia, a global leader in the design and production of Remote Weapon Stations (RWS) and turrets for armoured vehicles. The agreement concerns technology transfer and local production of RWS in Greece to meet the operational needs of the Hellenic Armed Forces and other allied European nations.
Of particular interest to defence experts were authentic armour test panels displayed at the stand, which had undergone live-fire testing. The thickness of the protection required to meet ballistic standards ranging from Level 3 to Level 6 under NATO STANAG 4569 was clearly visible.
The most strategic development for EODH was the establishment of its new subsidiary, EODH DYNAMICS, with an expanded mission: to upgrade legacy armoured platforms, produce new-generation wheeled armoured vehicles (such as the multi-role and multi-configuration 4×4 “Hoplite”), and provide factory-level support for all categories of armoured systems.
These activities will be carried out in a new state-of-the-art 10,000 m² facility, the construction of which has already been contractually secured, with a fast-track completion schedule.
The EODH stand attracted notable international attention, welcoming official delegations, senior personnel of the Hellenic Armed Forces and allied countries, partners from the international and domestic defence industries, as well as representatives from universities and research institutions.
A particular honour for EODH was the visit of the President of the Republic of Cyprus, Mr. Nikos Christodoulides, the Cypriot Minister of Defence, Mr. Vasilis Palmas, the Chief of the National Guard, General Georgios Tsitsikostas, and other high-ranking officials from the Republic of Cyprus.
Distinguished Greek visitors also included the Inspector General of the Army and Deputy Chief of the Hellenic Army General Staff, Lieutenant General Andreas Koronakis; the Commander of ASDEN (Supreme Military Command of Interior and Islands), Lieutenant General Emmanouil Theodorou; the Director of GES Branch D, Major General Eleftherios Oikonomou; and Directors of Combat Arms and Corps, along with other senior staff officers.
