Five years after imposing restrictions on arms exports to Turkey, Norway has decided to accept Ankara’s arms applications.
In 100% of the results, the candidate of Edi Rama’s socialist party, Vangelis Tavos, collected 58.62% with 4,858 votes, while Petros Gikourias, who was supported by the Greek community, collected 41.38% with 3,400 votes, as reported by ERT.
It is recalled that Vangelis Tavos, in his statement before the polls closed, repeated his invitation to the candidate, Petros Gikourias, to accept the position of deputy mayor.
According to SKAI, the electoral representatives of Omonia left in the morning, while Nestoras Varfis, when asked to comment on the election result, said that terrorism won once again.
The counting of votes began shortly after midnight on Sunday at the center of the electoral commission at the football stadium of Himarra.
According to himara.gr, the two candidates, Petros Gikourias and Vangelis Tavos, as well as the member of parliament and president of KEAD, Vangelis Doules and member of parliament and secretary general of the Socialist Party Blendi Klosi, were present in the room.
It is recalled that the battle fought recently by the Albanian government by all means was to prevent another unpleasant surprise with the election of Petros Gikouria, who is supported by Omonia and opposition parties and is the successor of the Beleris combination that won the elections of May 2023, and in favor of the win of the “imported” candidate, Vangelis Tavos, former member of parliament of the Socialist Party, who comes from Dropolis.
