The Minister of Defence, Mr. Charalambos Petridis, accompanied by the Chief of the National Guard, Lieutenant General Demokritos Zervakis, visited several outposts at the defence line of the Republic, including the ones at the Green Line and Kampos tis Tsakkistras.

In view of Easter, Mr. Petridis exchanged wishes with the national guards and the officers of the outposts who remain vigilant during these Holy days and handed them symbolic gifts and festive food.

Addressing the staff, the Minister thanked the Government for their services to the homeland and their dedication to duty, in these adverse and unprecedented conditions caused by the pandemic.

“My thoughts are especially with those of you who will not celebrate with your loved ones, but close to the National Guard family. Happy Easter to all the staff of our Armed Forces. With patience we will soon return to our normality,” said, among others, Mr. Petridis.

The Minister wished that Christ’s Resurrection bring a better tomorrow and the hope for liberation and reunification to our island.

It is noted that, in all the visits made by the Minister of Defence, the protection measures against the pandemic provided by the health protocols were observed.
