The Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Cyprus has announced its successful participation in the third consecutive European Defence Innovation Day (EDID25), organised by the European Defence Agency. This year’s event is held under the auspices of the Polish Presidency of the Council of the EU and takes place in Krakow from 14 to 16 May 2025.

As part of the conference, an exhibition showcasing innovative products and Research and Development (R&D) projects from EU Member States was hosted. 

The Ministry of Defence, represented by the General Directorate for Procurement and Defence Capabilities Development, participated with its own stand, supported by staff from the Research and Innovation Sector. Six small and medium-sized Cypriot companies active in R&D in the fields of defence and security were hosted at the Ministry’s exhibition space. The companies Additess, CyRIC, Eight Bells, Ianus Technologies, Multimarine, and SignaGeneriX presented to the public a range of innovative technologies and products developed within the framework of European programmes.

In parallel with the exhibition, a conference was held addressing key issues related to the European defence industry. The Director of the General Directorate for Procurement and Defence Capabilities Development of the Ministry of Defence participated as a speaker. Additionally, a session of the Organisation’s Research and Technology Directors took place on the sidelines of the event.
