The 1st B2B Workshop between Cyprus and France, which is taking place on May 16 and 17, 2023 at the SEMELI Hotel in Nicosia, kicked off today at 1:30 p.m.

Twenty French and 18 Cypriot companies are participating in the said conference, which will carry out B2B meetings to strengthen business cooperation between Cyprus and France in the fields of Security and Defence.

The proceedings of the conference were opened by the Minister of Defence of the Republic of Cyprus, Mr. Michalis Georgallas, while the French Ambassador to Cyprus, Mrs. Salina Grenet-Catalano, also addressed the conference.

Both stated that the workshop in question strengthens and further expands the cooperation of the Republic of Cyprus with the Republic of France in matters of Defence and Security, confirming the excellent level of bilateral relations between the two countries and the multifaceted cooperation between them on a bilateral and multilateral level. Further, both speakers strongly advocated further integration and strategic autonomy of the EU at all levels.

At this point, we recall that the 1st French and Cypriot Security and Defence Workshop is a result of the cooperation of the Cyprus Association of Research and Innovation Enterprises (CARIE) and the Cyprus Defence Cluster with the French Maritime Industry Association GICAN, the Direction de la Coopération de Sécurité et de Défense DCSD of the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the French Embassy in Cyprus and the Cyprus Chamber of Commerce and Industry as co-organizers.

We all wish that the action in question will lead to fruitful cooperation, which will add even more value to the bilateral relations between Cyprus and France.
