Kyiv will allocate approximately €5.2 million to a new anti-drone programme aimed at defending the Ukrainian capital’s skies from Russian drone attacks, municipal authorities announced on Friday.

President Christodoulidis had a meeting with the Secretary General of the United Nations on the sidelines of the Climate Change Conference in Baku.
According to information, Mr. Guterres informed Nikos Christodoulidis that the planning for convening an expanded meeting is progressing according to what was discussed as a result of the informal dinner on October 15 and that he received the consent of all parties involved.
According to the same information, in the next period the Assistant Secretary General of the United Nations, Rosemary Di Carlo, will pay a visit to Cyprus for coordination and on-site preparatory work, since the goal of Antonio Guterres is to have a result from this meeting.
In the context of the Conference in Baku, President Christodoulidis also had a short meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkey, Hakan Fidan, with whom the Cypriot issue was also discussed.
The head of the press office of the President of the Republic, Viktoros Papadopoulos, speaking on the program “Apo Mera se Mera,” said that President Christodoulidis conveyed to Hakan Fidan that it is the dialogue that will lead to the resolution of any problems.
He also reminded him that there is a window of opportunity from the European Union so that there is a mutually beneficial state of affairs if, as he said, the conclusions of the European Council are implemented.
The President of the Republic, Mr. Nikos Christodoulidis, who has been in Baku, Azerbaijan, since yesterday, to participate in the work of the 29th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, COP29, made an Intervention today, against which he referred to the actions and actions of Cyprus to deal with the consequences of climate change.
