BREAKING | The “Kallisto” minesweeper of the Hellenic Navy sinks after collision with cargo ship – Photo
A cargo ship collided off the coast of Salamina with a Navy minesweeper and tilted.
According to Greek media, the Hunt-class minesweeper HS “Kallisto” collided with a cargo ship carrying containers.
As can be seen in the photo from protothema.gr, a large part of the stern of the Navy’s minesweeper has been cut.
An operation by the Hellenic Coast Guard and the Navy is underway to evacuate people at sea, at least four in number, while according to the same information, one person has been seriously injured.
