‘Boomin Beaver’ is perhaps the US Navy’s smallest ship. At first glance it may be considered a toy due to its particular size and “cute appearance”, but in fact it is a general purpose ship that bears a significantly supporting role for the largest ships of the US Navy.

“Boomin Beaver” is a vessel used mainly for the deployment and operation of floating barriers, ensuring that large vessels such as destroyers, submarines and even aircraft carriers do not receive ‘unwanted visitors’ when they are moored.

Moreover, “Boomin Beaver” can assist in towing ships or submarines as it is equipped with Cummins QSM 11, a 10.7-liter turbocharged inline 6-cylinder diesel engine that can reach around 425 horsepower and 2,440 Nm torque.

The size of this boat is 2.3 meters long and 1.8 meters wide with its deck being very low and close to the water allowing its 2-5-member crew to perform their duties with great flexibility.
