Bilateral Defence Cooperation between Cyprus and Italy

On Tuesday, February 7, 2023, the Bilateral Defence Cooperation Program for 2023 was signed in Rome between the National Guard and the Armed Forces of Italy. The Program was signed by the Director of the 4th Branch of the National Guard General Staff (GEEF), Colonel Loukas Hatzikonstantas, on behalf of the National Guard, and by the Director of International Relations, Colonel Mattia Zuzzi, on behalf of the Italian Armed Forces.

The program includes, among others, conducting joint exercises and activities both in Cyprus and in Italy. With these actions, the military cooperation between the Republic of Cyprus and Italy is significantly strengthened, highlighting the excellent relations between the Armed Forces of the two countries.

It is recalled that both Cyprus and Italy participate in the quadruple scheme of naval presence in the Mediterranean together with Greece and Italy via exercise “EUNOMIA”.
