Turkish provocation in all its glory was witnessed by the crew and the owner of the company “Psarokaika”, Aristos Aristeidou, who were subjected to unprecedented harassment by a Turkish patrol boat.

According to Alpha correspondent Erika Kavazis, Mr. Aristeidou’s boat “Bouboulina” was 20 nautical miles off Apostolos Andreas in international territorial waters, when a Turkish patrol boat approached it on Tuesday around 14.00.

The armed Turks asked the Cypriot fishermen to stop their boat and then seven armed Turkish soldiers boarded it.

According to the owner of the company, who was also aboard the fishing boat, the Turkish soldiers put the crew of the boat in a corner and then carried out checks during which they caused damage to the electronic systems of “Bouboulina”.

Then, they accompanied the boat to the sea area of Deryneia and around 20.30 in the evening they let it continue its course, getting across the message to the crew that they should not fish again in this area because it constitutes “Turkish EEZ”.

“Bouboulina” is expected to arrive at the old Limassol Port around 14.00.
