The sport of dynamic shooting using combat rifles can be considered a male sport, but the Russian athlete Alena Karelina may change your mind.
The three-time world champion in the IPSC (International Practical Shooting Confederation), and member of the Russian National Team, impresses with her performance in rifle competitions.
Karelina, as she stated in an interview, had initially started with airsoft and paintball games, before she met her coach who introduced her to practical shooting.
The weapon most often used by Kalerina is the Kalashnikov KSZ 223. This is based on a proven and highly popular Saiga MK 223 semi-automatic carbine, redesigned to suit the requirements of the IPSC ‘manual action rifle’ division. The development of this pump action carbine was requested by members of the Russian IPSC team, especially for the 2017 IPSC World Rifle Championship in Moscow.
In Cyprus the current legislation does not allow the operation of combat rifle shooting ranges in contrast to various other countries of the European Union. Regarding this as well as the benefits that will result from the regulation of this issue, you can watch the interview given to us a few months ago by the well-known weapons instructor Stelios Stavrinidis by following the link below.
