Hellenism today celebrates 201 years since the beginning of the Greek Revolution of 1821. In Athens, the traditional military parade took place in Syntagma Square in front of the monument of the Unknown Soldier.

The parade was attended by the Minister of National Defence, Nikolaos Panagiotopoulos, the Minister of Defence of the Republic of Cyprus, Charalambos Petridis, and the Minister of Defence of France, Florence Parly. 

The Chief of the National Defence General Staff, General Konstantinos Floros, concluded his daily agenda to the officers of the Armed Forces, stating that “You come from the depths of history and everyone knows that! The path that we must walk in joy is one and only. It is dictated by the love for Greece, Freedom and Independence. And let everyone remember that, with us first!”

The Minister of Defence of the Republic of Cyprus, Charalambos Petridis, in his statements at the military parade in Athens, stated, among other things, that Greece today defends the values ​​that inspired the struggle with ability and determination.
